GTA 5

GTA 5: Release date September 17

"Video game developers Rockstar have released the first gameplay footage or the upcoming Grand Theft Auto 5 coming to the Xbox 360 and PS4 on September 17 this year.

GTA 5 will be the 15th game in the fantastically successful franchise, and Rockstar have promised that it will also be the biggest – with a game world larger than GTA 4, Red Dead Redemption and GTA: San Andreas combined. Players will reportedly be able to explore the world in a number of new vehicle types – including a range of planes and even a submarine. The new trailer itself goes further than this, promising everything from "the sublime" to "the ridiculous".

The most radical departure from GTA 4 will be a multi-character structure focused around three individuals – Michael, Trevor, and Franklin. Rockstar has said that players will be able to switch between the three at “nearly any time” and have already release a series of trailers setting the backstory for the trio. The new trailer gives more details of this system, showing how players can toggle between the three protagonists.

Michael is a high-successful ex-bank robber who turned himself into the FBI witness protection scheme but finds himself missing the excitement of the criminal life; Franklin is a repo man for an Armenian luxury car dealer; and Trevor is an ex-military pilot turned drug addict current living in a trailer park."

iOS 7 Beta 3

Signs that you have cancer: early detection is key, this could save your life. Click here for more info.

"Just two weeks after iOS 7 beta 2 arrived with iPad support, Apple has released iOS 7 beta 3 to registered developers.
Apple unveiled iOS 7 at WWDC 2013 on June 10 and offered its first beta to developers the same day. For now, the release cycle appears to be every two weeks for a new beta — which is faster and more consistent than iOS betas in the past.

The release notes for iOS 7 beta 3 don't mention any significant changes or feature additions — mostly bug fixes and performance enhancements. Still, early reports indicate some UI tweaks, especially when it comes to fonts and icons within apps.
I'm going to spend some time with iOS 7 on various test devices and will report on new tweaks or pertinent changes. For now, it's important to remember that Apple is still just getting started with iOS 7. What appears in the beta versions today may not necessarily represent the final look and feel of the shipping version, expected sometime this fall.
For now, I'm excited to see Apple releasing beta updates so quickly and on such a consistent cycle. I hope this continues because iOS 7 brings lots of changes for app developers and a more consistent update cycle means a better testing strategy.
Developers, let us know what you think of the new beta in the comments."

Ramadan

Signs that you have cancer: early detection is key, this could save your life. Click here for more information.

"DETROIT -- For Zainab Chami of Dearborn, the holy month of Ramadan isn't just about fasting all day from food and water — it's a time of introspection.

"Ramadan elevates you spiritually," said Chami, 29, a high school teacher, about the month marked by observant Muslims. "There's a spiritual reawakening. The feeling is indescribable."
Like many other Muslims around the world, Chami will start observing Ramadan, which starts Monday night at sunset. During the month, Muslims refrain from eating or drinking any liquids from sunrise to sunset, which can be a challenge during the long days of summer.
But it's worth it because the fasting is a way to keep Muslims focused on their faith, Chami said. Despite feeling hungry or thirsty, "I become more patient" during Ramadan, she said. "I'm calmer, more tranquil, more serene. I feel closer to my creator. I never feel closer than I do during Ramadan."
Dr. Mansoor Qureshi of Superior Township said that he and other Muslims try to improve themselves every Ramadan.
"Every year, we want to be a better human being by the end of the month," said Qureshi, with the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Center in Rochester Hills. "It's kind of like a mountain climber, moving up. We have to get a notch above."
For Qureshi and others, that can mean avoiding backtalk, being nice to people and controlling desires. Some do that by reading more from the Quran, the Islamic holy book that Muslims believe was first revealed to their prophet, Mohammed, during Ramadan. Observing Ramadan is one of the main pillars of Islam.
Imam Mohammad Elahi, the religious leader of the Islamic House of Wisdom in Dearborn Heights, said Ramadan is a time for Muslims to "return to God, who is the source of everything, whether it's health, happiness, peace or wisdom."
"We repair our relationship with the divine through fasting and prayer."
At Elahi's mosque, a nightly program in English and Arabic starts Tuesday. Dozens of other mosques and centers will feature similar programs, with lectures from visiting speakers and prayers. Fordson High School's auditorium will feature nightly lectures whose theme this year is "Revolution of the Self."
Ramadan is "the month of self-improvement, where you build your character, your immunity to desires," said Bilal Dabaja, 28, of Dearborn, who helps organize nightly lectures during Ramadan. "You're working on building your spirituality."
Imam Elahi said that Ramadan is like a "free market for spiritualshopping."
"It's a month of God's reception ... we let the Quran be revealed in our hearts.""

Andy Murray

Signs that you have cancer: early detection is key, this could save your life. Click here for more information.

"WIMBLEDON, England — Andy Murray's long-awaited Wimbledon victory against Novak Djokovic could signal a tilting of an entrenched dynamic.
Murray, though it took him a while to break through, has become a significant force in the chase for majors.
Playing with a calm sometimes lacking in previous campaigns, No. 2 Murray knocked off top-ranked Djokovic 6-4, 7-5, 6-4 on a brilliantly sunny afternoon — thus ending a cloud of anxiety that has hung over Britain.
WIMBLEDON: Bartoli captures first major crown
Scotland's Murray is the first British man to win Wimbledon in 77 years, since Fred Perry won the last of three in a row in 1936.
"I still can't believe it," Murray said a couple of hours after sending the Kingdom into collective delirium. "Can't get my head around that."
Djokovic remains No. 1 in the rankings. It could be said, however, that at this moment Murray is at the top of the game.
DOUBLES: Bryan brothers win 4th in a row
The two 26-year-olds, born just a week apart, have upped the physical stakes with Rafael Nadal and are threatening to separate themselves from Roger Federer, who turns 32 in August and has dropped to No. 5, his lowest ranking in a decade.
NEW WORLD: Changes since last British champ
"You're looking at a bit of the changing of the guard," John McEnroe said Sunday. "Roger is one of the greatest, if not the greatest ever, but it's going to be harder for him to hang with these guys in long matches now. And Andy's really come into his own."
One year after a crushing defeat to Federer in the Wimbledon final, Murray returned to the All England Club lawns to capture his second Grand Slam title. He broke through in September at the U.S. Open, where he beat Serbia's Djokovic in a rousing five sets.
Murray, who also won the 2012 Olympic gold medal at Wimbledon, ran his unbeaten string on grass to 18-0 since.
"I understand how much everyone wanted to see a British winner at Wimbledon so I hope you enjoyed it," Murray told the Centre Court crowd where the year before he broke down into years in his on-court interview. "I tried my best."
Grueling groundstroke rallies
Meeting in their third major final in less than a year, the world's top two players and defensive standouts exchanged many grueling groundstroke rallies. A few went 30 shots or more.
Murray was quicker around the court and steadier in the clutch, taking advantage of Djokovic's lackluster serving and bouts of error-prone play.
"The bottom line is that he was a better player in decisive moments," said Djokovic, the 2011 Wimbledon winner. "He was all over the court."
Murray had a better ratio of winners (36-31) and unforced errors (21-40) than Djokovic, and also smacked more aces (9-4). But the biggest difference was his ability to put return after return in play — 77% in all.
"Even though when I was putting my first serves in he was always getting them back in the court and making me play an extra shot," Djokovic said. "That's why he won this tournament."
Murray, too, seemed energized by the nearly 15,000 screaming fans on sold-out Centre Court and thousands more watching the big screen from the grounds.
With them at his back, he recovered from a break down in the last two sets and shook off the loss of three match points when he was serving for the match at 40-0.
"At the end, mentally, that last game will be the toughest game I'll play in my entire career, ever," Murray said.
When Djokovic netted a backhand, Murray's racket and cap went flying as he pumped two fists at his box.
Soon he was there himself, hugging his coach of the past 18 months, Ivan Lendl, his girlfriend Kim Sears, his father, Bill, and other members of his team and family.
The Dunblane native nearly forgot the person most responsible for putting a racket in his hand and shaping his game before reversing course to give her an embrace — his mother, Judy, now Britain's Fed Cup captain and a former top player herself in her native Scotland.
Murray credited hard work and resolve for his win — making the incremental improvements from which champions are constructed."
